Zulma M. Cucunuba is an Assistant Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, and an Honorary Lecturer at the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis at Imperial College London. Her research focuses on using statistical and mathematical models to understand infectious disease spread and the impact of interventions with a particular focus on Latin America. Zulma co-leads the Epiverse TRACE-LAC initiative, concentrating on open-source software development, analytics, and training programmes for public health crises. She has provided assistance to the national and subnational Colombian government in formulating effective strategies during the COVID-19 crisis. Furthermore, her work encompasses building and testing models for various vector-borne and vaccine-preventable diseases. She has worked in collaborations with the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO), the World Health Organization, (WHO) and global modelling consortia such as the Vaccine Impact Modeling Consortium (VIMC) and the NTD-modelling consortium (NTD-MC).
