Project Summary

This project aims to provide policy makers evidences for regulating an appropriate iodine supplement for pregnant women in Thailand. Due to the concern of low IQ of Thai children, there is an agreement among stakeholders that it should start promote sufficient iodine intake since gestation period. This study comprised of systematic literature review to identify potential formulations that are suitable for Thai setting. A national survey of Thai physicians was also conducted in order to explore the most preferable form of maternal iodine supplement. Those information was presented to a policy makers and used to formulate the national policy regarding formulation for maternal iodine supplementation.
