This policy brief summarise findings from literature review on definition of ‘rare disease,’ and the use of HTA to support policy decisions around rare diseases in 7 countries where HTA is in place and of which information is publicly available. The reader will better understand rare disease in the context of health system and the role of HTA in supporting them.
